About Keynote Speaker - Olivia Jordan
Advocate, Actress, Model
and Miss USA® 2015
Tulsa-raised Olivia Jordan became Oklahoma’s first ever Miss USA® on July 12, 2015. An advocate, actress, and model, Olivia graduated from Boston University’s College of Health Sciences in 2011. While working as a volunteer at the women’s resource center on campus, Olivia became passionate about spreading the word on public health issues affecting women. It was this passion that inspired Olivia to pioneer a self-defense workshop that would become a continued tradition within her sorority. Olivia carried this charge into her post-college life and, in 2014, the non-profit organization Children of the Night recognized Olivia as an outstanding volunteer and advocate, due to her work to raise awareness on the behalf of America’s sex-trafficked children.
During her time as Miss USA®, Olivia experienced a host of red carpet events, media tours, and hosting opportunities. She even had the opportunity to attend iconic American pastimes such as the NCAA Final Four, NFL Super Bowl and Sundance Film Festival. Chief among her reign’s opportunities, however, was her participation in various charitable endeavors. This included travel to Haiti with the nonprofit Smile Train to advocate for children born with cleft palates. She served as a bell ringer for the New York Stock Exchange and lit the Empire State Building purple; both opportunities helped to raise funds and awareness for the Alzheimer’s Association®. Olivia treasures her two trips to Washington, D.C. at the service of the National Institutes of Health, where she met with elected officials to lobby alongside the Alzheimer’s Association® and Ovarian Cancer National Alliance. Legislation for the HOPE for Alzheimer’s Act was accepted as a Medicare benefit as a result of the work of many valued advocates like Olivia. Events emceed by Olivia have raised $6.5 million in donations, benefitting continued care, support, and research for the Alzheimer’s Association®.
A Screen Actors Guild member and UCB-trained comedic actress, Olivia has appeared on television as well as in feature films, including Murder in the First (2014), 10.0 Earthquake (2014), and Hot Tub Time Machine 2 (2015). A 12-year veteran within the modeling industry, Olivia’s editorial print work has been featured in Cosmopolitan™, SHAPE Magazine, MAXIM, and VOGUE Japan. She has appeared in national advertising campaigns for Olay®, Target and David’s Bridal™; many times over, she’s graced the coveted catwalks of New York Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week and Miami Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim.
Olivia is currently living in Los Angeles working as an actress and model. Time not spent on set is dedicated to her philanthropic service, as well as acting classes and workshops to continually enrich her craft. She plans to co-produce a play that will debut later this year.
