“The 2023 Arts Alliance Tulsa made an incredible impact on our general operating expenses. Securing funding for general operations is very difficult especially now that fixed monthly costs continue to increase. The generous support from AAT allowed us to maintain our world-class facility and employ a quality staff. Without the foundation and structure of operational expenses, none of our incredible programming would be possible. We also receive many benefits from being a member of Arts Alliance Tulsa beyond the monetary contribution. Being a part of the AAT community means we are connected to the most up-to-date information regarding grant opportunities. AAT also supports us through recognition and publicity when possible. It has been a rough road after COVID with many lingering effects on the arts sector and AAT has created as many opportunities as possible to support us.”

Arts Alliance Tulsa provides unrestricted grants, which are rare. It is our strong belief that the non-profit arts organizations awarded AAT grants should have the flexibility to put the money where they see it is needed most and then report on how it was used.
From hiring teaching artists and new talent to updated software and new tech, each funding choice they make, including keeping the lights on so work may continue, plays an important part in sustaining and helping grow each arts organization in Tulsa.
Tulsa Modern Quilt Guild
2023 grant impact
The 2023 grant from Arts Alliance Tulsa (AAT) allowed Tulsa Modern Quilt Guild to fund the Tulsa Modern Quilt Guild sewing education initiative, Tulsa Sews.
Tulsa Sews is an initiative of the Tulsa Modern Quilt Guild to foster skill development necessary for learning the art of sewing. Tulsa Modern Quilt Guild will offer grants for teaching the basic skills of quilt making and/or garment construction.
Tulsa Sews is structured as a grant so that every grant cycle is funded to a different instructor in a different area of Tulsa teaching a different sewing technique to a different population. This assures diversity in education rather than the same curriculum taught repeatedly in the same location to the same micro community.
AAT Funds were also used to purchase supplies for members to create original baby quilts for distribution at Art in the Park to clients of Emergency Infant Services.
Latimer-Cooksey Arts and Cultural Foundation
The grant money received was used to pay a portion of our art teachers’ salaries. We were able to use the funds to purchase costumes and supplies to make the sets for the productions we presented.
Vocal Pride Foundation
2023 grant impact
Council oak celebrated it’s 25th Anniversary in 2023 and the generous grant money from AAT helped us pay regular expenses and keep our employees paid and on staff. This also helped us purchase new music and add 2 extra concert performances to our calendar. … Because of our grant from AAT, we were able to hire a professional to record all the voice parts and thus begin building our rehearsal library. We were able to have vocal tracks recorded for all four concerts we performed in 2023!
Harmony Project Tulsa

Our last AAT Grant helped fund our Harmony Project Teaching Artist Salaries. The AAT Grant helped us make a greater impact!
Tulsa Glassblowing School
2023 grant impact
TGS was able to upgrade obsolete hotshop essentials – 2 industry specific benches, a large marver table as well as 2 torch stands and basic bench tools. These items are used daily by students and staff and are critical to glassblowing. The ability to offer a larger marver table for the upcoming Summer workshops places TGS in line with state of the art hot glass organizations throughout the country. These funds also assisted in supporting a visiting artist (Ohio) who was instrumental in the fabrication of those items to meet industry standards. Additionally remaining funds will be used to assist with operational needs through the first and second quarter of 2024.
Craft Productions
2023 grant impact
Craft Productions is using our AAT grant to hire a grant writer. We realize, as an organization, that we have to exhaust every funding opportunity available.
The gift of this grant will also assist in paying for our royalties for our summer production.
We are so appreciative to not only be a member of the artistic community but to have an umbrella organization, AAT, for all of us to collaborate and work together.
Theatre North

Our plans are to spend funds to include the following: a new computer, other technology devices, technical support, security, Wi-Fi, Dropbox, PO Box Rental, office equipment and supplies, conference attendance and training, solidify a sustainability plan, and to hire personnel to assist our executive director where needed.
Tulsa Opera

Tulsa Opera gratefully used funding from Arts Alliance Tulsa to help cover the costs of our 2023 productions. In particular, these funds assisted with our October production of “The Medium” by Gian Carlo Menotti.
